A quick makeover certainly improves the presentation of a property listed for sale especially if the owners are asking a premium price.

I have sold a few properties and always put in a few days yakka in cleaning things up, it does pay off. In my opinion the most important preparation task you can do is remove all clutter and rubbish from the property. I know if i was in the process of looking for properties to purchase I would look twice at a property which had rubbish in it!

Don’t be afraid to outlay a bit of money in fixing things up before a sale. Nothing major but just replacing those fittings or pot plants that are looking old or broken.

Even if you don’t sell your property straight away you will still be rewarded as your property will look better over spring and summer!

Are you saying that a For Sale by owner property has more chance of being sold during spring? I think that would apply to all properties.
