Private real estate sale, for sale by owner ( FSBO ), DIY real estate sales and private property sales are now made easier through the private real estate website Privatepoint.

Private real estate sale, For Sale by Owner (FSBO), DIY sales and no agents sale websites always have a combination of the worst and best real estate photography amongst their property listings. Some for sale by owner take pride in preparing photos for their property while others half heartily take some very ordinary photos of their real estate.

A property owner needs to remember that property photos are an essential marketing tool and that every property and real estate advertisement should have a minimum of 10 clear and attractive photos. When ever i am looking through a private real estate sale website and come across a listing with poor photos, I think that if the owner prepares photos like this for sale then exactly how well has the property owner looked after the property.

Quite frankly a property owner who does not have photos or have poor photos for their property should reconsider to sell privately as 99% of these people will invariably fail in their attempt to sell their property.

We live in a technology driven world where virtually everyone knows someone who owns a digital camera. With this type of technology DIY photography should be no excuse for poor quality real estate photography. Some tips in taking photos include:

Always use a digital camera

Make sure there are no people in the photos as this looks tacky

Make sure you have cleaned the area you are taking photos of

Make sure there is no clutter or excess furniture in the photo

Try and take photos where there is a lot of light in the room

Try and position the camera so a room looks as big as possible

Turn lights on in rooms which do not have a lot of light

The order of photos should start with a shot of the front of the property or a view from within the property and then include shots of the inside of the property and then shots of outside the property.

Remember, as a property owner you have probably spent a reasonable amount of money on online advertising for your property so make sure you go to the effort to provide decent photos.
