How To – Erect an Open Inspection Sign
If you have taken advantage of our Promotional Offer and received a FREE Open Inspection sign or purchased an Open Inspection sign then you need to know how to erect your sign for open inspections.
These signs are 450mm long and 300mm tall and are made from weather resistant Corflute material. They are double sided so they are easily seen from either direction of a street. It is extremely easy to erect these Corflute signs, all you need are some basic tools including a hammer, screw driver or drill and maybe a set of pliers.
Wooden Stake
Similar to the For Sale/Lease signs these signs are erected using a wooden stake which can be purchased from your local hardware store. Due to the size of the sign you can get away with using one smaller wooden stake than the stake you use for the For Sale/Lease sign.
Fixing to Wooden Stake
The best way to fix the sign to the stake is to use either screws or nails. Position the stake at the very end of the sign which is opposite to the end which the arrow is pointing. Then nail or screw the sign to the stake so it is secure.
During an Open Inspection
When you are holding an open inspection simply hammer the stake into the lawn outside your property making sure the direction of the arrow is pointing towards your property. You want to make sure the stake is positioned in between the footpath and road so people walking and driving along the street can see the sign.
Alternative Options
If you have limited or no area in front of your property to hammer the sign into the ground then an alternative is to find a building brick with round holes in its middle. Place this brick where you would like the sign situated and insert the wooden stake into one of the holes of the brick.
Points to Remember
1. Make sure you position your sign so that it is easily seen from the street and in particular motor vehicle traffic which passes by.
2. Check your local council regulations regarding erection of signage on residential property. You need to make sure you are not breaking any laws as your sign could be confiscated and you may be fined.
3. Once the open inspection is complete make sure you remember to remove your Open Inspection sign.
